No matter how high the mountain an athlete climbs to make it to the top of the sports world, it alwways seems like they never forget where they came from. That is never more true for Denver Broncos’ Von Miller.

A young Miller attended DeSoto High School in Texas, where he played football and ran track. He stood out in both sports and ultimately took his talents to Texas A&M, where he became a two-time All-American and a top NFL draft prospect.

In light of current contract talks with the Bronco’s its known that Miller has made and will continue to make quite a few dollars in his time as an NFL football player – and he’s doing an admirable thing in sharing some of that wealth with his hometown.

Miller has pledged $25,000 of his own money to the DeSoto Fire Rescue over the course of 10 years, according to Troy Renck of The Denver Post. Miller even bought the police department a new 2016 Ford Explorer to be used as a cruiser.

As the country is in shambled with racial and governmental divide, Von Miller shows us some hope for humanity.
