Titans Allowed Fans to Call Their First 2 Plays of Preseason Game, Gained 46 Yards

The Tennessee Titans might be on to something.

Titans head coach Mike Mularkey told reporters following the team’s first preseason game versus the San Diego Chargers that the team in fact auctioned off its first two play calls, and it was all for a good cause. The two plays raked in $20,000 to will go the the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a move which coach Mularkey previously pulled during a preseason game with the Atlanta Falcons.

Not only did the two plays work, they moved the Titans almost half the length of the field for a total of 43 yards.

The first play was a DeMarco Murray ran for 15 yards. The next, a Marcus Mariota pass to Tajae Sharpe for a 31-yard gain.

You would think a person shelling out about 10 grand for one play call would chuck it deep via a flee-flicker, but hey, 15 yards on a basic run play isn’t half bad.
