
Andy Dalton had one of the roughest starts to a season for a veteran quarterback in a long time. Technically speaking, he has the worst single game by a player at his position in twelve years.
Dalton, who tosses four picks, zero touchdowns, while only completing 51.6% of his passes, finished the game with a 28.4 passer rating. Dalton managed a 0.6 QBR (total quarterback rating) the lowest ever since ESPN instituted the metric to rank a quarterback’s overall performance in 2011.

While Dalton is of course at blame, the Ravens defense is projected to be tops in the league this season, and they showed why Sunday.
