The New York Giants have a new regime in place with GM Dave Gettleman and HC Pat Shurmur and with that new regime will come new philosophies and practices as the duo has their sights sets on rebuilding this organization.

One of the goals Gettleman and the Giants brass have is to prevent leaks to the media with their interest in free agents and NFL Draft prospects.

In recent years, the team’s interest in Jack Conklin, Leonard Floyd and Garrett Bolles were all leaked ahead of their pick in those respective drafts, which may have hindered their ability to land their desired targets.

According to ESPN, new GM Dave Gettleman will go to any lengths to prevent these leaks from happening again, including putting a “disinformation campaign in 2018 to help prevent leaks”:

Be especially careful with most of what you hear out of the Quest Diagnostics Training Center this year. There might be an inordinate amount of misinformation coming from East Rutherford. The organization is extremely cognizant of what unfolded the past few years, with their interest in many of the players they coveted in the draft (Jack Conklin, Leonard Floyd and Garett Bolles to name a few) becoming public knowledge.

The Giants own the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft.
