Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome Gets Emotional After Final Draft Pick With Team

Since 2002, Ozzie Newsome has been the Baltimore Ravens general manager.

On Saturday, Ozzie Newsome made his last draft pick as general manager of the team, as the 62-year old is slated to retire.

Ozzie’s final pick was Ferris State defensive end Zach Sieler, the 193rd pick. Following Newsome’s phone call with the player, around 50 members of the organization, from coaches to scouts gave him a standing ovation:

It was an awesome tribute to someone who singly handley built the Baltimore Ravens and helped build two Super Bowl championship teams.

Ozzie is famous for drafting Ray Lewis, Jonathan Ogden, Ed Reed and Joe Flacco.

Ravens assistant general manager Eric DeCosta is slated to take over at the conclusion of the 2018 season.
