Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is expected to undergo toe surgery following Super Bowl LV, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport:

Mahomes has been battling a turf toe injury throughout the postseason. He was listed on the Chiefs injury report over the last weeks, despite practicing fully.

The injury hasn’t slowed down Mahomes in the playoffs. He threw three touchdowns in the AFC Championship Game on January 25th and threw for 255 yards in a divisional round win over the Cleveland Browns, before leaving the game in the third quarter with an apparent head injury.

Mahomes enters Sunday seeking his second straight Super Bowl.
