REPORT: Eagles’ Jason Kelce Told Teammates He’s Retiring After Playoff Loss

Philadelphia Eagles star center Jason Kelce told teammates that he’s retiring following Monday night’s playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The 36-year-old was visibly emotional at the end of the Eagles’ 32-9 NFC Wild Card Game loss. The six-time All-Pro and future Hall of Fame had contemplated retiring in recent years but it seems like this is it.

Kelce declined to talk with the media after the defeat, saying: “No guys, not today.”

Kelce was a sixth-round pick by the Eagles in 2011, playing his entire 13-year career in Philadelphia and has been one of the cornerstone players for the team that made the postseason six times and two Super Bowls over the past seven seasons. Kelce is the fifth center in NFL history with at least six All-Pro selections.

Kelce played this season on a one-year contract and was set to become a free agent in March.
