Joe Flacco Believes Damar Hamlin Should Win Comeback Player Of The Year

Joe Flacco had one of the most insane comebacks this season after going from being on the couch for the majority of the season to leading the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs.

Despite that, Flacco doesn’t believe he should win NFL Comeback Player of the Year. Instead, he thinks Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin should take home the crown.

“I don’t necessarily know what I’m coming back from,” Flacco said. “I would say most of the guys on that list, I’m not sure what we’re coming back from so that’s probably my initial reaction. But I think any time that you’re getting recognized in this league for playing well I guess, it can be flattering. It’s a cool group to be a part of that’s for sure but yeah that’s my initial thought. I’m just coming back from being old and not being on a team for a couple of months.”

He then said “For sure” when he was asked if Hamlin should take the award home.

Hamlin has been the obvious choice for the award after he came back from collapsing on the field at the end of last season, suffering cardiac arrest. He made outstanding progress in his recovery and it allowed him to play again this season.
