The San Francisco 49ers are headed to Super Bowl, defeating the Detroit Lions, 34-31, in the NFC Championship Game.
The 49ers erased a 17-point deficit in the second half led by Brock Purdy, who was magnificent in the second half. Purdy threw some great passes and was able to evade rushers and use his legs to pick up some crucial first downs late in the game.
However, there was one particular play that has 49ers fans upset at how the Lions reacted. Late in the 4th quarter, after Purdy rushed for a first down, replay shows Lions safety Brian Branch stepping on Purdy’s knee. Purdy got up and looked back at him.
