The John Harbaugh sweepstakes are starting to heat up.
After being fired by the Baltimore Ravens last week, Harbaugh has made the decision to coach in 2026 but is taking his time in deciding which jobs he wants to interview for. He’s been considered for several openings including some with head coaches in place but it seems like three teams have emerged from the pack.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Harbaugh “continues tog other information on potential destinations” and is expected to “interview with the Giants, Titans and Falcons by the end of the week.” Pelissero also adds that “other teams remain interested” but those three appear to be the favorites.
The Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders have been linked to Harbaugh this month, but it sounds like Harbaugh is not interested in them. Same goes for the Miami Dolphins, who at one point were considered one of the favorites to land Harbaugh.
Ian O’Connor of The Athletic reported that New York Giants executive Chris Mara, who is the brother of team owner John Mara, has already had an informal meeting with Harbaugh. He also added that Harbaugh has been in contact with the team owner, John Mara, and others within that organization including former Giants head coach Tom Coughlin and legendary quarterback Eli Manning.
Even the team’s former coach – Brian Daboll – has spoken positively to Harbaugh about the Giants job.
It seems like the Giants are making a big push to land Harbaugh but the Falcons and Titans have at least done enough to earn themselves a sit-down with the Super Bowl winning head coach.
