Aaron Rodgers Calls Out Drew Brees For National Anthem Kneeling Comments: “Wake Up”

Drew Brees made comments during an interview with Yahoo Financial Wednesday morning that while the Saints QB is fully entitled to his opinion, probably didn’t need to be said in the climate the country finds itself in right now.

After Colin Kaepernick was shunned for peacefully protesting by taking a knee during the National Anthem in 2016, Brees reiterated that he will never “agree” with someone who kneels during the anthem regardless of the basis for it, of course tone deaf with the senseless murder of George Floyd at the hands of police last month in the wake of the protests and riots that have followed.

A few years ago we were criticized for locking arms in solidarity before the game. It has NEVER been about an anthem or a flag. Not then. Not now. Listen with an open heart, let’s educate ourselves, and then turn word and thought into action. #wakeupamerica#itstimeforchange #loveoverfear❤️ #solidarity #libertyandjusticeforall #all
