REPORT: J.J. Watt Will Be “Accommodated” And Traded By Texans

This time last year, the Houston Texans were up 24-0 on the Kansas City Chiefs and looked like a team poised to make a Super Bowl run lead by Deshaun Watson, DeAndre Hopkins and J.J. Watt.

A year later, Hopkins is in Arizona and Deshaun Watson and J.J. Watt look to be on their way out of Houston.

Along with the strong noise on Deshaun Watson possibly wanting out, there is now a credible report saying “the Texans are leaning toward accommodating J.J. Watt” and that “he’ll likely be moved”:

Watt’s six-year, $100 million contract, which he signed in 2014, expires after the 2021 season. He’s due a non-guaranteed $17.5 million base salary, meaning Houston could cut him without paying him anything.
